PSL for arkfall

[Vash was getting use to his life in the city. Some of it has been pretty bad, but for the most part he really can't complain. He always had enough to eat. He had stopped pouring sand out of his clothing. Could have all the water and shower for however long he wanted. No one had tried to shoot him in months. The people here even didn't care about his scars. In fact some people really liked them!

He was currently without a dominate, but he didn't mind. A small grace period to find another one and he wasn't in a rush. Which is why he was taking a moment to enjoy a bit of people watching in the Down. Munching on a donut and enjoying the day.

The only problem was in times like these his mind tends to wander to thoughts of home. Worry starts to settle in. Hoping that his friends were alright without him. Things certainly looking good when he left. Of course, there wasn't much he could do for them here so he tries not to think too much about it.

Besides, this donut was really tasty. Right now he just wanted to sit and enjoy them. Nothing bad could happen on this day, right?]

[Vash stands and let's his brother brush his teeth and hold his head as needed. Letting his twin take control without complaint or resistance. Although his ears and cheeks do go a little red. This all felt a bit silly, but Knives was right. Pulling at his healing arms would have been stupid.

He makes a soft noise to signal that it was enough. He only tasted the mint of the toothpaste now. It was so much better now.

Once he spits and rinses his mouth he's come to a decision about something.]

It was to be tied up. That's what they made me want. I didn't care with who.

[arkfall]

[Knives listens and then nods. He feels like there's a rock forming in his stomach.]

And of course that would be a thing that would be traumatizing for you.

Because of me.

Well, I had been free for just over a month when it happened. [He failed his quota his first month then learned his lesson.] But it's also the idea that I got lucky. I ran into a friend I could trust. There are people here... [He shakes his head.] It could have gone a lot worse.

[arkfall]

[Knives looks as if he wants to say something else but thinks the better of it. Luckily, he saved by a knock on the door.]

That's probably the pizza.

[He explains as he goes to answer the door.]

Alright. I'll get myself back to bed. Promise. [This time. Which he will do. Carefully walking himself and laying back down onto Knives's bed.]

[arkfall]

[Knives pays for the pizza and then brings it into his room. He sits on his bed next to Vash still holding it and offers to let them both eat it while in the bed.

It's not something he usually wants to do, but in this case it seems like a way to make Vash stay.

He takes his first slice and considers it.]

That is a lot of toppings....

[goldenglasses]

And all have their own unique flavor! [Vash says with his mouth already full.] If you find something you don't like pick it off and I'll eat it. I like it all.

[arkfall]

[Knives tries it experimentally and after a moment he seems to like it well enough. Whenever he eats he doesn't do it with the passion that Vash has, instead, his motions seem mechanical and detached. The only thing he had a real reaction to had been the donuts on the first day.]

Do you ever think about all of the resources that must have been used to create this pizza?

[goldenglasses]

[Vash tries to not groan, but a small one escapes. He can guess where this might be going although he still answers honestly.] Sometimes I do, but a guy still has to eat right? Besides things are different here. [Empathize on the word different. Their sisters weren't here are all.]

[arkfall]

I know they are. There is an abundance of resources on this planet.

My question is... Where are the farms? In order to have onions, tomatoes, and olives you need a place to grow them.

[goldenglasses]

They're out there. [Vash sets his current slice of pizza down. Thinking of the events of the fort usually ruined his appetite.] They once took us to a fort. While we were there we learned there are other cities. Forests and even a desert. I explored some of those areas and there are places to grow food there.

Only... since they [dragged] brought us back I haven't been able to leave the city's boundaries to get back to any of those places.

[arkfall]

Hn. If we could find out how to escape. We could survive in that area then.

[goldenglasses]

I vote for the forest. I'm tired of the desert climate. It's too hot.

It also may take more than just leaving. I did all I could to hide from them out there and they still found me. I'm not sure how they did, but they did. Or, I dunno, maybe I've gotten rusty at shaking people following me.

[arkfall]

All right. [Knives finishes up his pizza slice. He uses a napkin to clean his fingers.]

Then our goals are to escape the city and mask however they are tracking us. That's not impossible.

[goldenglasses]

Yeah. [Vash picks a bit of cheese off of the box and eats it.] If anyone can get out of here it will be us. [He decides not to say his own fears. That he has to go home. He has to start the time line up again.

Or worse; what if his reality is one where he's been missing for nearly a year now? Missing for that long and Knives being allowed to do whatever he wanted to No Man's Land?

But this was a nice moment and a nice thought. He doesn't want to ruin it so Vash keeps his thoughts to himself.]

[arkfall]

[Knives is actually a little surprised that Vash agrees to the idea at all.

The last time he had made a plan for him and his brother to escape together, he had done so by attempting to kill every human on board the sleeping ships.

Now, he's made a promise not to kill anyone. Which is a shame. Because blowing up the whole city and killing everyone inside of it would be an easy way to accomplish both goals.]

Do you think they put a tracker inside of out bodies? Perhaps when they brought us through to this world?

[goldenglasses]

[It's remarkable how much more agreeable Vash is when mass murder isn't involved.]

Some have found trackers inside of their bodies. I didn't have one and it turned out that the LIES team didn't put them in. Someone else did. So there could still be a different sort of tracker in us, but I'm not sure.

[arkfall]

If I was at full power I could probably look for it.

[It's hard to keep things in place when your body morphs to your will. As it is, he feels stuck in this miserable shape.]

[goldenglasses]

I'm not giving you any of mine to look.

[It sounded more like a comment on his current state then Knives asking for help in that way. Regardless Vash wanted to put a stop to that line of thinking straight away just in case. Seeing how badly opening up to his brother had gone for him today. He wouldn't be stuck laying on this bed right now if he hadn't done that.

Although Knives usually didn't ask. He just took what he wanted and Vash isn't sure he could stop his brother if it's what Knives really wanted right now.] So don't get yourself killed trying.

[arkfall]

I wasn't - [But, no, he's not going to respond aggressively to Vash. He knows his brother is in pain and that he is the reason for that pain.

He's the reason for so much of Vash's pain.]

You need everything you have left. You should never give me your power again.

[goldenglasses]

Then don't give me a reason where I'll need to. [Vash let's himself relax again. It's a bit wearily still as it was hard to forget over a century of pain. Still, he tries to believe Knives wasn't about to try something.] I don't want you to die. [Not when there was something he could do about it.]

[arkfall]

That, I still don't understand.

[goldenglasses]

You don't? You really don't see why I wouldn't want to lose the brother and best friend that I once had forever? [They were already making progress towards that and it hadn't been that long ago that Knives arrived in this city.]

[arkfall]

'Once had forever.' You moron, that doesn't make sense.

[goldenglasses]

You know what I mean you jerk. If you die then we never would have the chance we have right now to fix things between us.
