museunboxing | Bad End Part 6 - Never let the pain stop

Things only continue to get worse. Vash continues to spiral and loose himself the more the mind breaking continues. The mages continue to use Cyril like he's nothing but a toy to use and throw away. Yet, any chance they have to have together the love Vash and Cyril share together stays strong. For now that remains unbroken. With every day only getting worse that will continue to be challenged.

Cyril tries to look Vash in the eye. He may be disappointed by the way Vash's eyes drift to the side towards Cyril's shoulder. He tries to do it slowly and not draw attention to it, but as he's looking for it, it will be easy for Cyril to spot.

"Hn... I know..." Cyril slowly pulls himself off of Vash and rubs his eyes. He looks so tired and worn. "I... I'm sorry."

Vash sits up and starts to reach out towards Cyril after he's pulled away, but then brings his hand back. "Maybe there's some sort of magic or potion that could stop your dreams?"

Cyril sighs. "Maybe..." He stands and rubs his neck before moving to check on the boys. He makes sure that his nightmare didn't make them fuss. When he sees they seem pretty relaxed, he moved to sit back down at his desk.

He seems so bland. He's not pretending by putting on a smile or acting like he's okay. He just looks emotionless and tired.

"Did you want to try again? Maybe somewhere a little more comfortable?" He use to be able to keep the nightmares away.

Cyril shakes his head. "No. I don't think it will work anymore." Then, after a moment, he goes to the parchment on his desk. "It's fine. I have work to do anyway. You can stay here if you want while I do..."

Vash opens his mouth to say something then shuts it again. Thinking over his words before trying again. "Would you like me to stay?"

Cyril puts the papers down and looks up at Vash. "What do you want me to say here?" he asks after a moment. "What do you want from me?"

Vash has his eyes on the corner of Cyril's desk rather than at the man. He doesn't speak right away. It takes him a solid few seconds before he decides to speak honestly and slightly bluntly. "I've upset you, haven't I? I'm not sure if you need a break from me or not."

Cyril takes a moment as well. For a while, he just stares at Vash. "I don't know what I need.

I thought I needed you, but then you were here and I couldn't open up with you either. And just when I thought maybe I would be able to..." He looks away and trails off.

"Never mind. It doesn't matter."

Vash bites his lip. It hurt to hear, but he appreciates that Cyril has told him the truth.

"I'm sorry that I'm not the person you feel you can open up to anymore. But... I think you should try to speak to someone."

Cyril bites his lip. "Hn," he responds, just grunting instead of saying anything.

"It's important." Vash tries gently. "Even if you don't talk about everything, it seems like something that could help you."

Cyril rubs his face again, starting to show some of his annoyance. "Sure. I'll add that to my to-do list," he says. He realizes that sounds pretty irritated, and he shakes his head. "Sorry, that's unfair. I know you're coming from a worried place."

Vash doesn't even flinch when Cyril snaps slightly. "You need sleep. Maybe the nightmares wouldn't be as bad if you were able to talk about the things on your mind." He glances towards the paper work on Cyril's desk.

"Is there anything I can do to help you? To give you even a little more time for yourself?"
