Bad End Part 6 - Never let the pain stop

Things only continue to get worse. Vash continues to spiral and loose himself the more the mind breaking continues. The mages continue to use Cyril like he's nothing but a toy to use and throw away. Yet, any chance they have to have together the love Vash and Cyril share together stays strong. For now that remains unbroken. With every day only getting worse that will continue to be challenged.

Cyril tries to look Vash in the eye. He may be disappointed by the way Vash's eyes drift to the side towards Cyril's shoulder. He tries to do it slowly and not draw attention to it, but as he's looking for it, it will be easy for Cyril to spot.

"You're in the bed we sleep in," Knives points out. "You put us in a small space, and then did that."

Driving home. Going quiet for about 40mins. Night if I miss you!

"Ah. I'm sorry. You're right. I should have thought about that. I guess... I didn't think it would upset you that much. After all, he's not a human or an elf anymore."

yeah! i'm heading to bed soon. drive safe and have a good night!

"He's... something else, you're right. He's closer to what we are..." He doesn't seem happy about that, though. "He's artificial. Everything about him has been molded."

Aw, but I wanted to drive recklessly!

[goldenglasses]

"He's still Cyril. His soul is still the same, kind man who cares about us." Tentatively, Vash reaches out a hand to touch his brother's arm. Ready to pull back if it seems like his brother is going to going to pull away or lash out at being touched.

"I'm sorry. I promise, I won't ever do something like that in our bed again."

[samahl]

Knives freezes but doesn't lash out or pull away. He looks down at Vash's hand and then up at his face again. "Good," he says simply.

"I'm going to go back in now to check on the boys. Then I'll walk Cyril back. Will that be alright?"

[samahl]

Knives seems to glare for a moment before nodding. "Fine."

[goldenglasses]

"You're still upset." Not that Vash sounds surprised. "Is there anything else I can do? To make this up to you?"

[samahl]

"Do what you just said," Knives says. "I'll stay with the boys." He pulls back, wanting Vash to go inside and collect Cyril.

[goldenglasses]

Vash seems unsure as he steps back when Knives pulls away. "Alright. I'll be back soon then." He moves to head back inside. Giving Cyril a smile as he opens the door. "It's alright. You don't need to worry."

[samahl]

Cyril has finished getting dressed and is saying good bye to the boys when Vash comes in. He frowns, but he can sense that Knives is near and not lashing out at the townspeople. "I still might," he admits.

"Time for me to go back?"

[goldenglasses]

"Yeah, I think it will be for the best. Sorry, I really should have known better. I didn't mean to ruin your lunch break."

[samahl]

Cyril shakes his head. He moves to give Vash a hug, holding onto him for a moment. "You didn't ruin anything," he says. He kisses the side of Vash's face before pulling away.

Vash hugs Cyril back, but being a Plant now, Cyril might be able to pick up that Vash does so nervously. Tense, worried Knives might come back in upset once more. "Yeah. Alright, you ready?" He gives each boy a quick kiss before they head out. "I'll be back later boys. Be good for Uncle Knives."

[samahl]

Cyril gives Vash space as they leave the house. He doesn't want to be too close to him when they walk by Knives. He feels nervous, too.

Knives immediately leaves them to go into the house and watch the boys.

[goldenglasses]

"I'll be back soon." He speaks to Knives as they leave. Once they're a short distance away Vash relaxes just a little bit. "Would you be alright, if I hold your hand on our walk back?"

[samahl]

Cyril nods and reaches out to take Vash's hand. "I'm sorry that I upset your brother."

[goldenglasses]

"No, it wasn't you. I should have known better than invite you into the bed we share."

[samahl]

Cyril makes a slight face. "Oh... Yes, I didn't consider that either..."

[goldenglasses]

"That's what he was actually mad about. That we were doing... that on the bed he sleeps in. And, even though he doesn't sleep that much, I can see why that would be upsetting."

[samahl]

Cyril frowns. He squeezes Vash's hand lightly. "I hope he doesn't take his anger out on anyone."

[goldenglasses]

"He's watching the boys. He won't be able to cause problems while he's busy with them. And I'll go straight back to keep an eye on him. So you don't need to worry."

i'm gonna head to bed. have a good night!

[samahl]

Cyril nods. "Thank you," he says softly. "But you're also one of the people I don't want him to take out his frustrations on..."

Vash leans in to give Cyril's cheek a kiss. "And he won't hurt me in front of the boys because that would upset them." He doesn't mention that it would probably be easy enough to have the boy sent away briefly by his men. He's hopeful that Knives won't ever think about that or the fact that if Knives did lash out at Vash how he would do his best to keep his feelings to himself during the assault to make sure the boys aren't affected. "So, really, it's the boys protecting everyone these days. Not me."

"That's a lot of pressure on them," he says quietly, but he lets Vash comfort him anyway.

"Just... be alert and careful, okay?"
