Bad End Part 6 - Never let the pain stop

Things only continue to get worse. Vash continues to spiral and loose himself the more the mind breaking continues. The mages continue to use Cyril like he's nothing but a toy to use and throw away. Yet, any chance they have to have together the love Vash and Cyril share together stays strong. For now that remains unbroken. With every day only getting worse that will continue to be challenged.

Cyril tries to look Vash in the eye. He may be disappointed by the way Vash's eyes drift to the side towards Cyril's shoulder. He tries to do it slowly and not draw attention to it, but as he's looking for it, it will be easy for Cyril to spot.

Cyril nods. "And now they'll have a chance to learn what they are and how to use their abilities without overtaxing themselves."

For a long moment, Vash is quiet. Struggling with himself to speak up about how he feels. "I'm concerned." He pauses. It's such a long pause it may seem like he's changed his mind about saying anything. "That Knives might push them to use their abilities too soon."

Cyril frowns at that. "You think he would push them too far too soon?"

"Not intentionally, but it's not like either of us have any experience with raising children. I've watched a few kids grow up, but that's different from actively raising any myself."

[samahl]

"Vash... Both of us only have to look at you to be reminded how dangerous it is to push too hard...." He says it softly, looking down with a bit of shame and regret.

[goldenglasses]

Subconsciously Vash brings a hand up to run through his hair. As if that could somehow hide how black it is. "It's alright. I'm fine."

"No. You aren't. But... I understand wanting to lie about it..." He does that too.

"No, really. I've already started to feel better." Except for the throbbing pain he feels from the new slit in his body that shouldn't be there. His body constantly trying to 'fix' itself, but also seeing the change as being a part of him. As if his body is constantly confused by what is him and what has been forced onto him. "It's been good. Restful."

"Hm. Sure. All we needed was rest..." He trails off as he says it, not really willing to broach the topic of his own health more than that.

[goldenglasses]

"Well, it's a start." He gives Cyril's hand a squeeze and forces himself to look Cyril in the eye. His smile only a little forced. "I'm just so happy we're together again. Everything else will work out eventually, won't it?"

[samahl]

Cyril nods, but it's clear that he doesn't seem completely convinced. "We can hope..."

He can hear that uncertainty in Cyril's voice. His eyes drop towards the ground again. He keeps his feelings that he really has ruined Cyril's life forever in careful check. Wanting to make sure Cyril doesn't pick up on it.

"You know, if you need help with Cassandra? I mean, if you're both busy with work and such. You could always ask us. I know Knives can be daunting, but I don't think he'd harm a baby. Even if it's a human one."

[samahl]

Cyril narrows his eyes. "I'm sorry, Vash. But I don't think I'll ever be comfortable with that."

[goldenglasses]

Vash smiles a bit ruefully. "Yeah, I understand why. Sorry, I just... I want to be able to help you. In any way I can."

[samahl]

Cyril nods. "Cassandra can stay with her father when we can't have her with us," he suggests gently.

[goldenglasses]

"Yeah, but her fathers are also both fighting for a better future for her. So I want to be able to help and support the both of them in any way I can."

[samahl]

Cyril is quiet for a moment. "I think the best we can do is try to raise our children well."

[goldenglasses]

"And that's going to be hard." Vash says with a nod of his head. "With how cute those kids are? We're going to have a handful with all the friends they'll be making soon." He's trying to keep things a little lighter.

Cyril chuckles. "Hm-mm. They'll be the popular kids." He isn't sure how he really feels about that. If Marikoth is any indication, most people will think of the boys as weird little freaks. That's upsetting, but maybe if they control who sees them and when, they can stop that from happening.

"And I bet they're going to be a real handful. Knives and I use to try to hack the computers on the ship all the time. I don't know how Rem put up with us."

[samahl]

"Oh, they are going to have complete control of that facility," he admits after a moment. "They'll probably have all of your sisters wrapped around their fingers too, which means they'll be able to make what they want..." There's also the fact that the elves there will be treating them like princes, but he doesn't say that part.

[goldenglasses]

"I completely agree with that. Maybe I can talk my sisters into making them cakes made out of broccoli when they try to get sweets before dinner." This was more fun. Picturing what silly kids the boys might one day be rather than thinking of the horror they came from.

[samahl]

Cyril makes a face. "Oh, could you imagine how that would taste?" Then, after a moment, "Hmm. Maybe if it was covered in melted cheese as a sauce..."

[goldenglasses]

"I'm not sure adding a lot of cheese to it will make it healthy." Vash says with a chuckle. "But honestly, I'm not sure I could say no to those kids if they ask for dessert before dinner. So, I doubt I'll be very successful in convincing my sisters either."

"Maybe it's different for Plants. You ate a lot of sweets yourself, you know."
