Bad End Part 6 - Never let the pain stop

Things only continue to get worse. Vash continues to spiral and loose himself the more the mind breaking continues. The mages continue to use Cyril like he's nothing but a toy to use and throw away. Yet, any chance they have to have together the love Vash and Cyril share together stays strong. For now that remains unbroken. With every day only getting worse that will continue to be challenged.

Cyril tries to look Vash in the eye. He may be disappointed by the way Vash's eyes drift to the side towards Cyril's shoulder. He tries to do it slowly and not draw attention to it, but as he's looking for it, it will be easy for Cyril to spot.

"And I bet they're going to be a real handful. Knives and I use to try to hack the computers on the ship all the time. I don't know how Rem put up with us."

[samahl]

"Oh, they are going to have complete control of that facility," he admits after a moment. "They'll probably have all of your sisters wrapped around their fingers too, which means they'll be able to make what they want..." There's also the fact that the elves there will be treating them like princes, but he doesn't say that part.

"I completely agree with that. Maybe I can talk my sisters into making them cakes made out of broccoli when they try to get sweets before dinner." This was more fun. Picturing what silly kids the boys might one day be rather than thinking of the horror they came from.

[samahl]

Cyril makes a face. "Oh, could you imagine how that would taste?" Then, after a moment, "Hmm. Maybe if it was covered in melted cheese as a sauce..."

[goldenglasses]

"I'm not sure adding a lot of cheese to it will make it healthy." Vash says with a chuckle. "But honestly, I'm not sure I could say no to those kids if they ask for dessert before dinner. So, I doubt I'll be very successful in convincing my sisters either."

[samahl]

"Maybe it's different for Plants. You ate a lot of sweets yourself, you know."

[goldenglasses]

"Yeah, but I was also doing a lot of running around to work off those snacks!" He even adds a bit of a whine like he use to when defending his sweet tooth.

[samahl]

"So we'll just have to make sure that the boys get the ability to run around a little." Though, he doesn't think he wants them traveling the world until he knows it's safe for them.

[goldenglasses]

"I'm sure they'll keep us running more than we need to keep them going." There's a fondness to his words as they reach a point of making a choice of heading towards the cabin or not.

"Are you ready to see Knives? I could still bring our sons to you."

[samahl]

Cyril takes a breath and nods. "No. I'm ready. We need to get used to this. And... well... at least now I know I can dodge him if he lashes out."

About to start my gym session. I'll be quiet for at least an hour

With a nod, Vash leans in to give Cyril's cheek a kiss. "Thank you. For letting my brother be a part of our lives." Even if Vash knows it's not exactly a real choice Cyril is making.

Cyril knows that he can't really stop Knives from doing anything, though. He accepts the kiss and braces himself.

In the cabin, the boys start to get restless when they notice that Cyril is coming closer. Soren even begins to scoot himself to the door. Crawling to get himself nearer the parent he misses. Knives scoops him up carefully to stop himself from getting in the way when the door opens, meaning that Knives is near the doorway when Vash opens it to let Cyril in.

Body is sore in a good way

Vash smiles as he carefully opens the door. Sensing his son and Knives close to the door. The smile may look familiar, but he still doesn't look his brother in the eye. Instead looking towards the floor as he enters.

"Hello, I've brought a friend back with me for lunch." His voice is cheerful, but the thought he sends to Knives is pleading.

Be nice. Please.

[samahl]

Knives makes a sound like "hmph" and then hands Soren over to Vash. "Your son was trying to get to you. He was going to crawl out of the door."

Cyril smiles at that, because even despite how nervous he is being around Knives the idea of that is heartwarming.

"Oh yeah? Are you going to grow up to be a speed demon like your uncle?" Vash teases and bounces his son in his arms. When he looks at his boy his smile brightens up instantly.

"And as much as I think you did miss me, I think maybe it was someone else you missed just a little more this time." He turns towards Cyril and holds the boy out to him to take.

The baby basically flings himself at Cyril once Vash starts to hand him over. Cyril is quick to scoop him up and laughs softly. "Whoa there," he says.

As he does, Alex starts to crawl over to Cyril, clearly planning to also be picked up.

Vash chuckles as babbles his way closer to them. Scooping him up when he gets to their feet. Holding him close to Cyril. "They're so quick. They must keep you pretty busy when I'm out of the house, huh?"

[samahl]

Knives shrugs and sets to making some food for the boys. He'll leave a space in the small kitchen area for Vash to make food for himself and Cyril if he wants.

"I don't mind," he says. He doesn't exactly turn his back on Cyril, making sure to keep Cyril and the boys within his line of sight.

Cyril ends up taking both boys and playing with some of the toys that Vash found.

Vash has manged to find a couple more toys for the boys this morning, but new clothes for Knives will take a bit longer. There wasn't much ready made that Vash could afford. Although he has arranged some cloth and help from an older woman to work on making some.

"Mind distracting them as I make lunch?" He asks, knowing Cyril won't say no. Already heading to the kitchen area once Cyril is settled further in the house with the twins.

It's a simple meal he'll make them all. Even setting aside a little for Knives if his brother wants to join them in eating together.

Knives clearly doesn't. In fact, he spends a little bit of time after the food is made to get himself ready to leave.

"I'm going to check on my people and patrol for a little while." Really, he won't go far. He wants to be able to sense the boys.

Cyril lets Vash handle his brother, too uncomfortable to speak while Knives is around.

"Alright, we'll be here if you need anything." He's not about to tell his brother what he can and can't do. But Vash will be keeping a light tab on his brother to make sure nothing sets his twin off.

He still gives a sigh of relief when he leaves. "Hungry? Hope soup is alright."

[samahl]

Cyril nods. "It sounds wonderful," he says. Really, what sounds wonderful is just spending some time with Vash and the boys.

For a while, he just focuses on that. Feeding the boys and then eating his soup.

It seems Vash still doesn't have his once endless appetite back. Often forgetting his own meal as he enjoys time with Cyril and his sons. Although he does go back to eat if reminded he should or when he nearly bumps his forgotten bowl.

"It's simple, but it's a nice little place."

[samahl]

Cyril does remind him gently, but doesn't push.

"It is. I didn't stay here myself, but Harding called it cozy." He looks around. "She's not wrong. It's a nice place to have the boys for now..." Then, after a moment. "And you're comfortable being cooped up with your brother?"

[goldenglasses]

"Of course. He was never a threat to me." A pause. "A direct threat." Says the man missing an arm because of Knives.

"And I know the boys will be safe with him around. He won't let anything happen to them like I did."
