Bad End Part 6 - Never let the pain stop

Things only continue to get worse. Vash continues to spiral and loose himself the more the mind breaking continues. The mages continue to use Cyril like he's nothing but a toy to use and throw away. Yet, any chance they have to have together the love Vash and Cyril share together stays strong. For now that remains unbroken. With every day only getting worse that will continue to be challenged.

Cyril tries to look Vash in the eye. He may be disappointed by the way Vash's eyes drift to the side towards Cyril's shoulder. He tries to do it slowly and not draw attention to it, but as he's looking for it, it will be easy for Cyril to spot.

Cyril presses his lips together. "For now I am. I don't know how I'll feel when they are old enough to disagree with him."

[goldenglasses]

"He loves those boys with every fiber of his being. He won't hurt them." Says the man missing an arm because of his brother.

[samahl]

Cyril's eyes narrow but he doesn't say anything. Instead, he keeps up the emotional walls and focuses on getting dressed. "I'll walk with you to the cabin."

[goldenglasses]

There's a beat as Vash speaks. "Maybe I should walk you home after you came out so far for me." Would Knives be okay with Cyril near the cabin.

[samahl]

"Hmm. No. I'm fine. I'm probably going to spend a second under the stars so I won't be heading back right away." He smiles at Vash. "If you think you'll be fine heading back on your own you can, just promise me that you won't get lost."

[goldenglasses]

He doesn't want to let go of Cyril's hand. "I wish we could run away. Run somewhere and just the the five of us." A beat as he considers something. "Six, Marikoth can come too." Only fair with Cassandra being his daughter.

[samahl]

Cyril nods. "That would be nice, wouldn't it?"

[goldenglasses]

"Yeah." He hesitates for a bit longer. "You're sure you're okay? With me going back now?" He should probably go check in if his brother was so worried he called for Cyril.

[samahl]

Cyril nods. "Of course. I wouldn't have offered otherwise."

[goldenglasses]

It's a heavy sigh Vash makes before nodding his head. "Alright. Then... I suppose I should go."

He makes no move. He doesn't even let go of Cyril's hand.

[samahl]

Cyril keeps a hold of Vash's hand too as they walk together towards the cabin.

[goldenglasses]

"I'll see you tomorrow?" Vash says when he feels this is close enough to his brother. Leaning in to give Cyril a kiss goodbye.

[samahl]

Cyril returns the kiss gently. Once they break away, he pulls away from Vash. "Yes. I'll see you tomorrow." He steps back quickly, but once Vash is inside, he runs.

He has to put some distance between them to hide how deeply upset this conversation has made him.

Vash is completely unaware of Cyril's struggles as he moves to enter the cabin again.

Until he runs. He can sense Cyril pulling away quickly and it distracts him. He turns towards the door and Knives may realise Vash is considering going back out to Cyril.

[samahl]

Knives has finished feeding the boys, cleaning them up, and is in the process of getting them back to bed. He blinks when he sees Vash.

"Do you feel better?"

[goldenglasses]

"Y... yeah." He's only half paying attention to his brother. Most of his attention more on the door he just came in from.

Was Cyril scared of Knives? Is that why Vash can sense him moving away so quickly? That didn't seem right. Maybe he should go after him?

Knives may want to distract his twin from his current thought process.

[samahl]

"Vash?" Knives asks. He picks up Alex and moves to his brother. "Are you here?"

[goldenglasses]

"Yeah." Partially. When Alex reaches out to him, Vash opens his arms to take his son. "Cyril he's..." He trails off. Not sure if he should mention to Knives that Cyril is running away from the cabin.

[samahl]

Knives frowns slightly. "Is he hurt?" he asks after a moment.

[goldenglasses]

"No?" He sounds unsure. "Not physically at least." His hesitation means Cyril is getting further away.

Maybe... maybe Cyril just wanted distance from Knives?

[samahl]

Knives watches Vash for a moment, waiting to see what he does.

[goldenglasses]

"Did you really ask him to find me?" He asks after a moment. "Was he alright? Did he seem... okay? When you first reached out to him?" He doesn't know what to think right now.

He's so tired.

[samahl]

"He was surprised, then worried," Knives explains. "It was...

Bizarre. To speak to him that way at this distance."

[goldenglasses]

Then... maybe he was in a rush to get away from Knives. Soren begins to fuss and distracts Vash further who moves to check on him. He seems to just be jealous that his brother was getting more attention than him.

"Thank you. I know that wasn't easy to do."

[samahl]

Knives passes over Alex to Vash and then moves to go get Soren. He shrugs as he moves. "It was needed. You were losing it.

It was pathetic to watch."
